Thanks to those who have already responded. We need to hear back from at least 30 people by Friday 
27th May to make this event viable. We will start to look in other regions if we don’t get numbers in our 
region as we are keen for the event to continue in our region. This was identified at the MRYA forum as a must-do for our Region so please show your support by registering today!

Professional Development – Industry Validation 
2011
Thursday 23rd June 2011 
9.00am to 3.30pm
Narangba Valley State High School
Cost $55.00 per person to be paid with full 
registration

Sandra Harrington will facilitate a professional development opportunity
for teachers to maintain currency of Training and Assessment knowledge, 
improve teaching and assessment strategies
and to demonstrate evidence towards some of the professional standards for 
Queensland teachers.
The PD will focus on VET news, status of training packages, planning lessons 
and designing assessment tools.

In the afternoon vocational teachers will then be invited to meet with industry 
representatives and other teachers to moderate and validate their 
Training and assessment strategies and two identified assessment 
instruments. 
Industry representatives have been invited to facilitate industry specific 
groups.

Industry groups are likely to include Business, Hospitality, Work Education, 
Engineering, Information Technology, 
Construction, Recreation, Furnishing, Tourism, Visual Arts, and Music Industry 
Skills. 

We ask that you register your interest with QYIL so that industry groups can be formed specific to the 
needs of vocational teachers.
