Requirements for Summary Report
This report is the fifth in a series of five required reports. In previous reports each student has been assigned specific topics concerning Technology, Issues, Readings and News. These reports have been published in the 311 Web Portal.
The course philosophy is "constructivist" meaning that students will learn by constructing the information on their own. The reports in the 311 Web Portal make up a sizeable amount of information related to the course. This scholarly effort is equivalent to the students publishing a textbook. Constructing this textbook has involved the students and professor together as colleagues.
In this summary report, the student will prepare a report using the experiences of the entire course using the 311 Web Portal as the source of information. The videos and other activities of the course will be additional sources of information.
The students must create a report which summarizes the information produced in the course. The report must be broad enough to cover the course topics in general and not limited to the students's own reports.
Unlike the previous reports, this report will be entirely contained within Concept Maps. More than one concept map is required and these will be linked into three levels of concept map structure.
Students will prepare the Summary Report overview as the top-level concept map. This top-level concept map must link to at least three separate concept maps which cover details not contained in the top-level map. In turn the second level concept map must link to other concept maps which may be existing concept maps prepared by students for their various Forum 1 through Forum 4 reports.
