Knowing and reflecting upon yourself as a communicator is central to learning about and enhancing your communication skills and interpersonal relationships. Let's begin this challenging and interesting process by completing a Communication Skills Inventory. Go to the Queendom Web site. Under Top 5 Tests on the right side of the page, click on and complete #5 Communication Skills Test. You will be required to register in order to complete the free demo test. You are not expected to pay for access to any tests and/or results. Examine the test statements and indicate the degree to which they apply to you. After finishing the Communication Skills Test, you will receive immediate feedback along with your test score.

Following completion of this inventory, reflect upon the following questions:

  • What was my experience of completing this inventory? (e.g., feelings, observations, opinions)
  • Are the inventory results congruent with previous knowledge I had about my communication skills? ... with feedback I have received from others? How so? How not? What does this mean?
  • Overall, what do I currently know about my strengths as a communicator? ... about my areas for growth?

(The above reflection will assist you in preparing for the discussion learning activity to come.)
